Heartbreaking Update! Famous Yellowstone star actress five dead at four in the morning in an open field in San Jacinto, California
Yellowstone star Gil Birmingham has been left “heartbroken” following the passing of legendary actor Graham Greene, who died on Sunday afternoon after five decades in film and television.
While the pair never appeared together in the popular Western series, both featured in the Yellowstone universe, with Birmingham playing Thomas Rainwater in the mainline series and Greene guest-starring as Spotted Eagle in 1883.
Greene also had a cameo role in Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan’s Sylvester Stallone-fronted crime series Tulsa King and appeared alongside Birmingham in the Twilight Saga.
Nevertheless, he was perhaps most recognised for his Academy Award-nominated role in Dances With Wolves, the historical drama helmed by and featuring Yellowstone’s leading star Kevin Costner.
Birmingham honoured Greene following his death at 73 with a heartfelt Instagram tribute, reports the Express.
He posted a photograph of the duo from Wind River, the 2017 thriller set on a Native American Reservation directed by Sheridan and featuring Jeremy Renner and Elizabeth Olsen.
“My heart is broken,” he confessed in the emotional message.
“We have lost a man of incredible talent who made a positive impact on Native representation in film, inspiring a new generation of Native actors.
“His great heart was only matched by his wickedly funny sense of humor. My prayers are with his family and friends. Journey on, Graham, R.I.P. #GrahamGreene.”
The cause of death has not yet been disclosed, with his agent merely stating that he passed away in a Toronto hospital over the weekend.
It is understood that Greene had been ill for some time, and his manager Gerry Jordan confirmed that he died “peacefully”.
Numerous fans have taken to Birmingham’s heartfelt post to share their own tributes to the actor.
“I am so sorry you lost your beloved friend. What a talent,” one user responded.
Another remarked: “Im heartbroken! I was just watching Wind River the other week. Canada is mourning a legend right now.”
“Loved him in everything he did!” another fan wrote. “Very sorry for the loss of your very special friend, and world-renowned great #GrahamGreene A very sad day indeed! Godspeed to his Great Spirit!”
And a final comment read: “Graham Greene could play any role with excellence and that’s what made him such a great actor. I’ll miss him terribly.”
