The death of Malcolm-Jamal Warner at age 55 has rocked Hollywood. As Parade reported, the actor died during an accidental drowning on July 20.

Since news of Warner’s death broke, tributes have been pouring in. The Bold and the Beautiful star Ashley Jones (Bridget) wasted no time remembering him.

Taking to Instagram, Jones shared a photo from her guest appearance on The Resident. Warner played AJ on the Fox show for six seasons.

“Malcolm. 💔 It was only about an 8 day stretch I got to hang and work with you on set. I was a big fan, but you were a friend. You were the real deal. Talked about your wife and daughter, your music, your poetry. We talked about my son and some hard life stuff I was going through…you were inspiring. Encouraged me to keep directing. Keep challenging myself. It was an honor—- and I pray your family is comforted. Your legacy will live on. Rest easy in God’s hands. ♥️🕊️@malcolmjamalwar,” read Jones’ tribute to Warner.

Jones’ former The Bold and the Beautiful co-star and current Beyond the Gates star, Karla Mosley (Dani), showed up in the comments section. Mosely wrote, “❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ so heartbroken. What a loss of light,” with Jones replying, “so true.”

Fans have flooded social media with tributes to Warner following his death. Many grew up with him as Theo Huxtable on The Cosby Show. Warner’s TV dad, Bill Cosby, released a statement saying he’s “devastated” by the loss of his on-screen son.

The Bold and the Beautiful airs weekdays on CBS.
