The 1000-lb Sisters star had skin removal surgery that removed more than 15 lbs of skin following her 500-lb weight loss.

The season seven finale of the TLC show that aired on Tuesday, June 10, revealed Tammy’s new look post-surgery and she couldn’t believe her eyes.

During the moment when the medical staff took off her bandages, showing her bare face except for a lone piece of tape under her chin, Tammy could be heard saying a simple, “Boy.”

Tammy had more to say in a later confessional, where she had healed some more with a portion of swelling going down, and she was very happy.

“I’m shocked, like I feel so weird,” she said to the camera, before making a joke about the skin they removed by her chin, “I don’t have my hanging ballsack off my face. My bat wings are gone, too. And I look down, and there’s nothing there but my lap now.”

“It’s going to take a little while for me to get used to seeing myself like this,” Tammy added.

As Tammy was filled with glee with her giggles of delights and smiling into the hospital mirror, she appeared more than happy about the results of the surgery. Her family also reacted positively to her appearance as well as they praised Tammy.

Tammy’s sister Amy Slaton mentioned that she “looks really good” and that “even blind you can still tell there’s a big difference.”

Her brother Chris Comb expressed pride for Tammy during his confessional and hoped that she “sees a new person in that mirror.” He added that with all the work Tammy did in losing “all this damn weight” and how it’s time she “feels good, too, about herself.”

In an article with PEOPLE, Amy shared about her fears about the skin removal surgery which occurred on Jan 18 and took 8 hours. The surgery took “over 15 lbs” of excess skin from Tammy’s chin, arms and lower stomach.

“I was really nervous for the skin removal surgery because I was really just kind of afraid of how I’m gonna feel looking at myself without the belly there,” she elaborated.
