Conner Leavitt is coming in defense of his wife Whitney after Viall Files podcast hosts Nick Viall and Natalie Joy allegedly “mom-shamed” her.
On Friday, Dec. 5, Conner posted a TikTok video of himself and his two oldest children — Sedona, 6, and Liam, 4 — dancing in the living room of their home. Text over the video reads, “We can’t wait to go watch mommy perform on Broadway!”
Conner captioned the post, “Teamwork looks different for everyone. This is how we do ours couldn’t be more proud of @Whitney Leavitt.”
The controversial comments were made during the Tuesday, Dec. 2 episode of The Viall Files podcast, where Viall and Joy questioned how Whitney would parent her three children while starring as Roxie Hart in Chicago on Broadway early next year.
“I’m finally getting everything I’ve ever wanted in my life, and it’s obviously happening at a time where she’s got three kids who I’m sure demand her attention just as much as Roxie Hart and Dancing With The Stars does,” Joy said.
Viall then asked, “Can she sing?” to which a producer responded, “If she can’t, she will. She can do anything.”
“I am curious how Whitney — and maybe this is just a human level, mom level question — on how she’s managing both, right? Because right now, her career has skyrocketed,” Joy continued. “She just did Dancing With The Stars for what, three, four months? I know she has kids in school level, maybe they’re homeschooled, I don’t know. But to be in L.A. for four months doing Dancing With The Stars, and then to now shift to NYC doing Chicago, like that takes so much of her time.”
Joy added, “How is she managing, prioritizing being a mom and her kids who I imagine have some sort of schedule and routine? And I know their home base was Utah… I’m just so curious.”
In the comment section of his TikTok, Conner “liked” several comments that slammed Viall and Joy for their comments.
“nick viall podcast was SO weird. whitney isn’t the first or last mother to pursue a creative project like broadway. so happy for her and this tik tok was the perfect response!,” read one of the liked comments. “Great answer to the weird podcast from Nick Viall.” said another.
“Judging a woman for going after her dreams and having a supportive dad/husband to support her while she does this in 2025 is crazyyyy ! We love a power couple” wrote a third.
Conner is a stay-at-home dad to the couple’s three children: Sedona, Liam, and Billy, 1.
Viall and Joy, who are parents to 1-year-old daughter River, have yet to address the backlash.
The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives season 3 reunion is streaming on Hulu.
