BIG REVEAL! Kirsten Storms accused of leaving GH to ruin her ex-husband’s happiness | General Hospital Spoilers
Zenon alum turned soap opera star Kirsten Storms has announced that she’s temporarily leaving her daytime home on ABC’s long-running drama General Hospital.
In a short social media video posted Tuesday on Instagram, the 41-year-old actress addressed her exit from General Hospital amid her move to Tennessee with daughter Harper.
“In March, I asked Frank Valentini, our amazing executive producer. I had a conversation with him about my reasons for wanting to move, and my desire to not leave the show,” Storms explained in the clip (below).
“When you approach a job like this, they can always be like, ‘Forget it, we’ll let you out of your contract if you’re going to leave the state.’ GH did not do that, which is kind of amazing because I also asked for some time off.”

She added that she taped her final scenes “for the year” in late June, and that it’s possible that those scenes will air “in December, maybe November” while she navigates her extended hiatus from the show.
“I promise you the storyline they have going on until my return to Port Charles is kind of incredible. You guys are going to freak out, actually,” she teased.
She then thanked the General Hospital producers and writers, as well as network executives for allowing her to take time off amid her movie.
“I know Frank and the producers there know my reasons, and I am so grateful that they understand and are supportive,” Storms continued.
Though she didn’t reference specifics, she ended the video by telling her fans that she wanted to talk “about the online rumors” that she’ll “get into” more in-depth “at a later date.”
She stressed, “If you don’t read about it or watch a video on it from my page, take it with a grain of salt. People like to say a whole bunch of stuff.”

‘General Hospital’ star Kirsten Storms announces temporary exit from soap
After filling in for Storms on a prior occasion in 2023, actress Nicole Paggi will reportedly again step in for the star as needed.
The caption for Storms’ video indicated that she’s “very excited to be making” Tennessee her home with Harper.
“I can’t wait to return to GH, once Harper and I are settled in our new town,” the caption continued. “I plan on documenting as much of this new journey on my social media as I can. It’s always been a dream of mine to move to a place like this, it’s hard to believe it’s really happening.”
Storms’ exit follows another recent General Hospital departure, as actress Eva LaRue previously confirmed in June that she, too, would leave the program a year after joining the show as Natalia, the homophobic mom of Jacqueline Grace Lopez’s Blaze.

“Eva’s been a dear friend for years and I am so pleased we found an opportunity to work together,” Valentini told EW in a statement at the time.
“What originally was meant as a guest star arc turned into a longer and more satisfying arc, in thanks to Eva’s terrific work and chemistry with our cast. I was thrilled Eva was available to us in this extended role. I wish her all the best in her upcoming projects.”
Kirsten Storms Leaving GH to Wreck Her Ex’s Life? Fans Spark Wild Theory
In the ever-dramatic world of General Hospital, sometimes the drama spills beyond the screen—and lately, fans have been buzzing about a spicy new rumor: that Kirsten Storms, who plays the beloved Maxie Jones, has left the show not for personal growth or creative opportunity… but to ruin her ex-husband’s happiness.
Yes, you read that right.
The internet rumor mill has gone into overdrive after Storms’ recent announcement about stepping away from GH “for personal reasons.” While she was vague (as celebs tend to be), one TikTok user suggested there was more to the story.
“I bet she’s plotting her comeback in his life… but not in a romantic way,” they joked in a now-viral clip. “More like Operation Chaos.”
Storms was previously married to actor Brandon Barash (ex-Johnny Zacchara on GH), and although they’ve long been separated and co-parenting amicably, some fans think there’s trouble brewing behind those Instagram smiles.
“Her timing is very interesting,” one fan commented on Reddit. “She leaves GH right when he’s thriving on another show? Coincidence? I think not.”
Others, however, are calling for calm, labeling the rumors as “soap opera-level ridiculous”—which, ironically, is what makes them so entertaining. “Let the woman live,” one supporter posted on Twitter. “If Kirsten wants to bake cupcakes or ride alpacas in Peru, let her! Not everything’s about her ex.”
Still, the idea of a real-life revenge arc has captured fans’ imaginations. “I hope this turns into a Netflix docuseries,” someone tweeted. “Title: Maxie Unleashed.”
To be clear, there’s no actual evidence that Storms is out for vengeance. In fact, both she and Barash have spoken warmly of each other in interviews, and they seem to be navigating co-parenting with genuine respect.
But that hasn’t stopped fans from building a whole soap subplot out of thin air—and, honestly, can we blame them?
After all, when real life starts to mirror daytime drama, who are we to look away?
