‘General Hospital’ Fan Favorite Defends Co-Stars Amid Charlie Kirk Death Backlash
The tragic death of Charlie Kirk has caused a significant divide due to his strong conservative opinions, but one person refusing to be drawn into it—or to support those promoting it—is General Hospital star Carolyn Hennesy (Diane).
Following Kirk’s death, Hennesy shared a message on X about the state of America. “A truly dark day in this country’s history. An opinion silenced because someone just didn’t like it. Not my idea of America. All love to his widow and precious children,” she wrote.
Carolyn Hennesy Defends General Hospital’s Nancy Lee Grahn
The comments section of Hennesy’s account was flooded with opinions, one of which took aim at Hennesy’s co-star Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis). Diane and Alexis are partners in crime on General Hospital, so Grahn and Hennesy spend a lot of time on-set together.
When one X user declared, “your costar nancy is probably thrilled,” Hennesy stood up for her co-star, writing back, “Okay, okay…c’mon now. Look, I know her and I KNOW that her heart’s ultimately in the right place. I’d be blown away if she thought this was anything other than the severe tragedy it is. Truly.”
Grahn doesn’t hold back expressing her political beliefs on social media and has ruffled some feathers doing so. In fact, one X user posted screenshots of some of Grahn’s X posts after Hennesy stood up for her.
Carolyn Hennesy Stands Up For General Hospital Stars
Another comment praised Hennesy for her words about Kirk while also taking a dig at her co-stars on the ABC soap.
“Thank you for being brave enough to say these words – none of your costars will be,” the user expressed. Hennesy also responded to this remark to defend her colleagues.
“You never know…we may be surprised. A lot of good eggs on GH,” she insisted.
The actress has been part of the General Hospital family for nearly 20 years. Diane is the legal eagle fans adore, having defended some of Port Charles’ most notorious troublemakers since 2006, so it’s not a surprise that Hennesy is standing up for her co-stars.
Hennesy isn’t the only General Hospital star speaking out on Kirk’s death. As Parade reported, General Hospital alum Ingo Rademacher shared a bold political message, blaming one side of the political spectrum for what happened to Kirk and society as a whole.
